Square Enix talks Final Fantasy XIII

Some details about Square Enix’ latest title, Final Fantasy XIII has been brought the the attention of gamers worldwide. It seems that the trio of games were planned and in developement years before the teaser at E3 2006. Final Fantasy XIII was originaly going to be released for the Playstation 2, but they scrapped the previous ideas and supposedly started anew, keeping what was needed. There will be driveable vehicles in the game, and will be controlled using the Playstation 3’s motion censor controller. The SE team has already completed 80% of Final Fantasy XIII’s scenario, yet they still haven’t revealed the heroine’s name.

It seems even with the amazing real time graphics, Square Enix will be shining light on the game and testing the Playstation 3’s full potential. The CG graphics won’t be quite different from the in-game experience, but the ploygon count will be reaching new heights. Party battles will still be a factor during the game. Square Enix also stated that this game will change the RPG genre entirely, creating wonder if it even fits into the Final Fantasy catagory. As for weapons, they will be keeping in the detail. More polygon count means the look of weapons will exceed that of any other game.

As for Final Fantasy Versus, the game hasn’t received any attention as to gameplay or scenario structure, but the team has created a storyline. It was confirmed that the game will definatly have an original world with unique characters during the game, although, there may be some connections. Hopefully more information on this game will be revealed.
