Hope for Unified-Disc Format?

I of course am referring to the on going debate between HD-DVD and Blue-Ray DVD. Though there has been much speculation and various parties leaning in either direction Toshiba executives still want to create a unified disc format. I find this to be the best case scenario in which we don’t have to buy HD-DVD’s for our Xbox 360 and Blue-Rays for our PS3, just really simplifying what we buy and saving the consumers money and the manufacturers money. Also realise that companies will have to be producing both or either or of the type of DVD, so if you have a PS3 and say.. Warner-Brothers decides on HD-DVD.. then you can’t play them on your PS3.
