The Saga Continues
Amidst the endless stream of speculation and rumors that have surfaced over the past several months regarding the Nintendo Revolution, some things are starting to make sense. But could we be finding out more info sooner than you think? I think so, and here's why.
(Note: the following information I feel are well known by now. For the sake of time and because I got better things to do than enter quotes into Google, I am not gonna list sources. Rest assured however, that there are sources for every tidbit of info I am about to post. So if you're really that upset about it you can whine about it in comments and I will find you a source.)
Last September we got our first glimpse at the infamous controller, something held secret since the Revolution was revealed back in E3 2005. Around this time, Reggie Fils-Aime (aka The Reginator) told us that there is still one more secret left for us to find out. In addition to that Satoru Iwata told us that we will know everything about the Revolution (with the exception of maybe playable demos) by the end of the year. Mr. Iwata also said that something along the lines of the Revolution being a "portable" console. Fast forward to last Monday. Miyamoto, speaking to Business Weed Online, told us that he always thought that games should break the confines of the ordinary four-cornered cathode ray tube, meaning, he wants games to be played on a medium other than the television. He then ended his comments by saying that he wishes not to disucuss this anymore. (article can be found here) Hmm? Why'd you leave us hanging there Mr. Miyamoto?
Now here's the kicker.
Miyamoto is planning to deliver a keynote speech on December 2nd. And we all know what happened last time a higher-up in the Nintendo organization delivered a keynote.
So let's recap.
a) Revolution controller is revealed.
b) Reggie tells us that there is one more secret left.
c) Iwata says something about the Revolution being a "portable" console.
d) Iwata promised that all Revolution info would be released by the year's end.
e) Miyamoto makes strange comments regarding games being played outside a television screen and leaves us hanging like the bastard he is.
f) Miyamoto plans to deliver a keynote speech Dec. 2, just in time for the end of the year.
Once again, this is just food for thought. But I strongly believe that all the clues add up. I think they are going to reveal the last piece to the puzzle on Dec 2nd and it is going to relate somehow to Mr. Miyamoto's comments. If I'm wrong, shoot me. If I'm right, then I own your soul.
