Playstation 3 Sales Break Record… Bullshit?

While Sony did crush in Europe, despite the immediate following of an 82%? decline in sales. It also did well in Australia, or did it. Sony reported that it broke record sales in Australia with only after 10 days, selling 27,083 consoles. However the fact that both the 360 and Wii sold more copies of their consoles in just 4 days makes the quote record breaking sales rather impossible.
- Australian 4 day Xbox 360 launch: 30,421 consoles sold
- Australian 4 day Nintendo Wii launch: 32,901 consoles sold
- Australian ten day PlayStation 3 launch: 27,083 consoles sold
Just have to love that Sony has to lie to everyone when they just did so well in Europe? I guess it’s never enough for Sony…

its not a lie, the other 2 consoles obviously ran out of stock, whereas the ps3 continues to sell.

The price was the reason, like i will always say people bought the other consoles in higher mass obviously due to the prices.
Once sony bring prices down, it will pick up. Retailers in the uk are bringing the PS3 prices down now however, so it’s a start lol.

ook so about australia, the way they spun it is that it’s the most MONEY spent on a console launch, not units. which is kinda a effed up way to spin it, but it’s not a lie. And, about the sales dropping 82% on week 2 in the UK, you do realize that as pretty much every console sells out at launch there sales drop for week 2 is 100%, so not only did sony set records for consoles sold, it’s still selling (even if the numbers are lower) the next week. no other console in recent history has done that.
