If you’ve read either Joystiq or Kotaku gaming blogs today, you may have noticed both of them claim to have top secret console news that they can’t release ’till after midnight tonight.
Kotaku:
“Expect to hear some kinda interesting news about a very interesting upcoming console at 12:01 a.m. EST Friday. The embargoed news was sent out to a bunch of newspapers and websites with the understanding that no one would print the information until first thing in the morning.”
Joystiq:
“We just got handed a scoop for some important news with one of the next-generation consoles. We can’t talk about any specifics yet, but you have our word that this announcement is something worth waiting for.
Expect all the info tonight here at Joystiq at 12:01 a.m. Eastern.”
One of us at Unlimited Gamer will try to be up to get the news, but we’re all a bunch of college kids who need our beauty sleep >_> Hopefully it’s not just a bunch of hot air though.

It was a con. Sure, there is an interesting note, nothing worth waiting for. They later added that if they say such things, many are filled with anticipation…
Tis a test!
