New DS Lite Cracks

In mid-July we ran a story about the Nintendo Ds Cracking on the hinges. While this problem alone was not so severe as it didn't really effect gameplay or the console itself aside from tarnishing the attractiveness of the handheld. However it would seem more cases of DS Lite cracks are emerging in a similar fashion (as in many people are having the exact same problems in the same areas) that are bad enough to render the device unplayable.

Maxconsole.net reports that numerous forum posters have the issue at hand and it is at times rendering the device unusable. The main problematic area seems to be on the right side between the power light and the R button.

I am not currently aware of any recalls for Nintendo DS lites, but if you are having this issue I am sure Nintendo would be more than happy to replace it. Below are various pictures of the DS Lite cracks taken from the Maxconsole forum.
