Yeah...

So this so called "major" console announcement that Joystiq and Kotaku promised us was in fact just a bunch of hot air. The news was that IBM has been shipping the Wii chip-sets to Nintendo for about a month now. Really? Have developers starting working on the games too? Gimme a break. I can see this kind of false hype coming from Joe Gamer's blog, but for a well respected gaming blog like Joystiq or Kotaku to use words like "major announcement" to describe something that really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, especially in a time where the entire gaming world is craving the big news, is just mind-boggling. They did issue an apology though, which was pretty cool. But their credibility has definitely been damaged.
