Why KH3 is really being Delayed and the state of FF13 on the 360

It should come to no surprise to anyone after hearing that the once famed exclusivity of the Final Fantasy series is now being more and more even with other platforms. Sony's own PSP has seen the least amount of Final Fantasy love when compared to the stream of titles that Square-Enix has put on the Nintendo DS, and its not always about the hardware numbers or the platform, what it came down to was the DS was a better system and this is despite the fact that Square would simple have to port the PS1 games to the PSP and make money.

The hammer was dropped a few weeks ago when Square-Enix announced that the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII, that well Xbox 360 fanboys saw coming since it's conception, would be moving to both the 360 and Playstation 3. This leaves only Tetsuya Nomura's version of the upcoming title to remain exclusive still to the Playstation 3 platform.

As a long standing fan of Sony and Square this move doesn't really come as much of a surprise to me, when I heard that the Kingdom Hearts 3 team was being pulled into the Final Fantasy 13 team to try and get things really under way I knew something was up, and it would seem the real reason behind the team resources coming together was to develop the game under both the 360 and PS3 platforms.

It brings me a lot of joy because it's one more excuse I have not to get the Playstation 3. However I do hope that the Kingdom Hearts 3 team can be brought back into their own project because I personally think that a Kingdom Hearts game is going to be a much better game at this point, especially since Final Fantasy has been losing a lot of steam lately, and it seems like Square is just milking every RPG franchise they have into the ground :(.
