Final Fantasy IV Remake for DS

I am curious to what extent will Final Fantasy be remade? After all this is the third time for Final Fantasy IV, and be it a popular Final Fantasy, I think even 3 is pushing it for number of times you can remake it to milk the series.

Despite how I feel, the reality of it is the game is being remade into a 3d adaptation of the original with the addition of some new episodes. That means the game is receiving the same treatment that Final Fantasy III received earlier on the DS. No note on release dates, expect some more information by this weekend during the Square-Enix party.
