Final Fantasy 7 Remake… Pre-Orders?

To be honest I don’t really know how to handle this situation. The Final Fantasy 7 remake has been pushed around the rumor bin for well over a year now, and just when you thought it was confusing enough, Best Buy decided to start taking pre-orders for the game. Not only has Square-Enix failed to even confirm the existence of a remake being in the works, but Best Buy is estimating the release date for the epic remake to hit us before the years end on Dec 1st.
I am sure this will all be cleared up in the next few days, but either someone at Best Buy has better inside than Square-Enix themselves or someone at Best Buy thought it would be really funny to put up a release date.

if its a lie then (if you ask me)who ever said it will be in alot of truble….and i dont mean just the “being fired” kind…this persons going to me chaced all awrond the world by angry FF7 fans….i would love it if SE did a re-make of FF7…but did’int SE say that there not going to re-make’s anything untill the newist concel could not play the older games?

Yeah. To be honest, Best Buy isn’t that great with buying really anything good. So I wouldn’t even trust them with pre-orders.

So they announced they’re making a SEQUEL.. but I want the ORIGINAL (with expanded storyline) AND I want to play as CLOUD, not the Coffin guy… sigh.. but I’ll still buy it.

Well what I think is that they will probley remake final fantasy 7 cause why would they waste money to make the tech demo if they had no use for it but anyways all we can do is wait and see

the tech demo was in order to show what square and the ps3 were capable of, and really got the industry buzzing about squares next-gen games.
the tech demo served it’s purpose.

If it does come out it will be PS3 exclusive… or at least thats the most likely option. 99.9% sure it will be PS3 exclusive, there really isn’t any reason that it would go to 360.

i think they need to make it, not change a single thing (other then the graghics and stuff, ya know.) but with Best Buy doing this, i smell a law suite, there just trying to get costamers. but the chances are its gonna be both 360 and PS3. Sony sold the rights for FFXI to them. and i think they did it for another FF game too.

Also shown at E3 was a Final Fantasy VII technical demo of the opening sequence remade for the PlayStation 3 system. Tetsuya Nomura, director of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, said he would like to remake the game for the PS3 once his other projects are completed.

who here would agree that if the remake of FF7 came out, you would leave school, work, etc. just to go out to the store to buy the game, that is after you killed everyone, considering that it would be such a hot item.

@tye: I think the response would be mixed, I don’t think it will be any more intense than when the advent children dvd came out. IF the game isn’t good ppl aren’t gonna care that much, but if they do more than reface the graphics then I would take off days of my life to play it.

Ive been searching through the internet like a safari for info on this remake rumor and ive decided im going to f*%#@n Best buy.but if it is all just a scam from the store i wonder what will happen?will everyone get there money back?

yes they will get money back, they can’t take your money for nothing, however if you don’t file a claim or anything in time, they can hold it. I know when you reserve a game at ebgames if you don’t get it in like 3 days your reservation cost don’t mean shit.

ok, this is what is happening. I just returned from my vacation in Vegas last night (friday the 15th). When I was there I had the oppurtunity to meet the best FF composer, Nobuo Uemastu. He explained that there WILL be a remake of the legendary Final Fantasy VII, BUT it will blow our minds. Square is planning on expanding the game to the point that you will have around 13-17 more sidequests throughout the game, and probaly 6 more places and an entirely new continent. This game is expected to be $89.99, and I will be more than happy to pay that price for this. The kicker to this is that he did not have a release date to give me so that was kind of gay, but what can ya do? If anyone needs to know anything else, mail me at tkavision@yahoo.com. I was fortunate enough to have been able to stay at the MGM Grand with him, and I had 4 hours to just hang out and talk!!!

FF7 is like a holy grail to the FF / RPG world
so if they remade it for the ps3…both the ps3 and the remake would be killed over.

OK my understanding on the final fantasy 7 remake is that they are making it but they are trying to keep it under wraps for now in case something happens…
Think about it They went to the extent of creating a video to show the world… I don’t think they would be cruel enough to show us that then disappoint us… the point is public interest… I believe that they will wait till we have just about given up hope (Which will give them enough time to create an increadable game in secrecy) then they will announce the release… The only way I think it won’t make it is if they can’t afford it or if they come out with statistics that sales won’t equal projected cost… An interview with one of the games staff said that he would like to remake it but he’s not going to say anything definate… simular to the problems they had with KH2 but that all ended quite well… so perhaps this will as well

I have seen the new movie and i think if they do remake final fantasy 7 they should put in a treat like if you get 100% you unlock advent children as a game like final fantasy 7 but of advent children

I hope they add an interesting element like they did in Dirge of Cerberus where rather than bosses just disappearing like regular enemies, they have a special death cut scene… For instance if you fought Bahamut they use something simular to the cut scene from Advent Children… They’s way more appealing than them turning red and making explosion sounds… lol… And seeing the way they revamped some of the towns in DoC I am very interested with what everything could look like in a remade 7… not only remade but redone… like not idetical gameplay but new fetures and more indepth storylines and maybe different playable sequences… Like perhaps when you find Vincent you not only see his past but unlock a playable game to be him in the past… Or different split missions where you do two things at once with different parties in different places… I’m not to sure how well live action gameplay would fair in it… but at least in some situations I’m sure it would be fun!
It’s my dream to see that game redone… but I hope that’s not all it is…

i gotta say a remake of ff7 would KICK ASS!!!
but if they dontmake it, they should at least make one more sequel with cloud as the main character (no offence to vincent)useing the same kind of tech as Dirge of Cerebus, or better.

Pssst Chris… even if you really met Nobuo, he’s been in the game industry for years and he knows what is a NDA.
You don’t know know what it is isen’t it? This is why you posted that stupid rumor.
If you want a 100% valuable proof that a game is coming out or not just check the list of Sony. Every game made on a Sony console must be registered and approved with Sony before the production start. FF7 = not on the list = no FF7 coming.

Anybody heard anything new? I cant stand hearing both sides of the argument. Hearing things like a guy who WORKS for square says its coming out..then someone just throws more evidence that would lead us to believe it isnt coming out…do you guys think its possible they reveal this info. RIGHT BEFORE the Ps3 launch?? It would be a smart marketing move if you ask me.

Capcom released Resi Evil for the GC and people bought the console solely for this.
If FFVII came out with just the PS3 it would be the same. Not only would we veteran gamers experience, the beaty of the game again; but a whole new generation of gamers shall be awakened to the beaty of FFVII. Not to mention Square shall have dominence over the genre of R.P.G; for many decades to come !!
A game like FFVII, is a work of art; but like all art/artists it should be liquid, evolving with the generations not against it

Think about why would square enix bring out a tech demo and not expect us to go “remake, remake” if you ask me I think that they are just hanging the rumour on as long as they can, getting us all obsessive and all. unless they dont care bout there fanbase, im sure they are making the project as we speak

It’s a difficult topic really… A remake would be a very good choice… they have not denied they aspect of making it… They did in fact say it’s not currently a main agenda… but I believe it will come so long as the fans show how truly interested they are in seeing it done… We have the power here… I know I sound like a geek when I say FF7 changed my life but it did… it opened my mind to many things and possibilities in my life… the psycological aspect made me realize many things… and the overall gameplay was fun too… I’ve spent many an hour on that game and it still sits on my shelf like a trophy of an everlasting classic that I would be very happy to make room for an improved version… The storyline was my main catch and at the time the graphics were amazing… I’m not interested if they plan to remake the same game with new graphics that would be lame and slightly pointless… but if they plan to reinvent the game… add to it… improve the storyline and gameplay as well… then I’m all for it

ok there is no proof that anything is being remade
but the tech demo is cool and maybe they did it for a reason beside showing what they can do on ps3 maybe they wanted to see how the world reacted
if they changed the story and changed the battle system and the graphic then would it be final fantasy 7 ?
if they remake it they will not change the whole game
but if they are remaking it noone knows except square enix

I have come across several sites about remaking FF7, many ppl saying they would buy even if it was very expensive. I for one loved this game and cherished it when I was 7th grade. I am now 24 years old, and still to this day think FF7 was the greatest game I have ever played. If they remake this game (which I think is only a matter of time) SQ Enix will be happy they did, and so will the Fan’s. To be quite honest i’m all for a final fantasy VII remake simply because i feel that the game was made before it’s time, I think a lot of people would agree that Cloud is THE BEST character they have ever developed, however I see the downside as well to fans of the orgional game. we won’t really have much to look forward to with a remake.
I feel that they should just make a new tale with Cloud as the focus, just entitled “Tales of a SOLDIER” or something.
Set it in another place. AND FOR GOD SAKES MAKE IT MORE LIKE DEVIL MAY CRY SO WE CAN ACTUALLY WALK AROUND WITH CLOUD AND DO HIS MOVES IN REAL TIME, AND BLOCK WITH THE SWORD AND SHIT!!!!!. I mean vincent got a game like that why not Cloud?? Not that I don’t like the final fantasy battle system because I do, it’s just i think cloud is more a character i’d like to control in a free based world. imagine a limit guage that you could use in real time……would be AWSOME!!!!

I discovered the game when I was in middle school… and it’s still the best game I’ve ever played… Gears of War, Halo, Kingdom Hearts, and whatever anyone else is raving about….don’t come close to the power of FF7…. it was the first (and only) game that had me staring at the screen with my jaw dropped and tears running down my face….An unexpected twist, and I’ll never… ever forget how amazing this game is… I’d pay ANYTHING to get this game polished up so that it can look as beautiful as some of the newer games.
Amazing plot… truly powerful emotions, and a genuine character make the perfect blend of heroism… not to mention the best evil villan imaginable… Sephiroth is amazing, Cloud is his perfect opposite…. extremely well made game… I’d love to see a remake… I’d love a new and improved game… just one small thing…. don’t screw with what’s already amazing…

I agree with the remake idea. Final Fantasy 7 is the greatest game ever made without a doubt. The only thing that I would like to see more is a game version of Advent Children with a kingdom hearts battle system. I love 7 and all, but remember the fight scene between cloud and seperoth where the shinra building gets destroyed? Imagine getting to do that in an actual game ya know getting to pull out two swords, do a flip and start running up the side of a building. that would be AWSOME!!! if only a pip dream its cool to think about just as long as they make it harder than kingdom hearts. But im still behind the FF 7 remake 1000%

i completly agree with everyones comments, and deffinatly about vincent having a game, fair enough he’s pretty cool, but, he isnt as cool as cload, and yeah i think if they do make a updated version of ff7 then i think they should defo make it like kingdom hearts, not like sequence battles like the others were, plz plz plz make this game ive waited long enough, and hey the advent childern game was a good idea too, good thinking.
