Madden 08 PS3

Yes, I’ve waited a long time for a good release of the next generation Madden. I went to my local GameStop in Severna Park for the midnight release. There was about 30 people when I rolled up. After waiting for 30 minutes to get in with my number, about 30-50 more people showed up outside waiting in line. This was a much bigger showing then last year. Last year I was the 10th person in line with bout 50 people there total.

So far this game has everything that was expected in the 07 next generation version. Superstar mode is revamped and has a much better way to create your Superstar. The gameplay is a lot smoother and faster. The icon for your players on field such as “shut down corner” is a step in the right direction. It allows the player to think a lot differently knowing what type of players are on the field.

This game feels completely made over. The gameplay is much smoother with no lag at all. The graphics on the other hand seem to be worse then last years version. I think its just me though.

Sounds are mostly the same as last. They still don’t have John Madden as the commentator anymore. He was replaced with some radio DJ. The soundtrack though, is up to date. Swiss Beats and Sum 41 are the ones that I have heard so far.

Replay - 10/10 if you are a football fan. 8/10 if your not

Total score 43/50

I’m going to say a definite buy for any sports fans.
