Playstation 3 Sales Figures

While console launches have been rough in the past few years, Sony, for one seems to having the worst of it. While both the 360 and PS3 had production cuts, that doesn't explain the fact that people weren't even buying games for the PS3 when they bought one. The sales figures over on Kotaku for Japan are as follows:
Total Hardware Sales: 81,639 PlayStation 3 60 GB: 45,774 PlayStation 3 20 GB: 35,865

Ridge Racer 7: 21,654
Mobile Suit Gundam: Target In Sight: 21,309
Resistance: Fall of Man: 13,545
Genji: Days of the Blade: 8,766
Sega Golf Club: 1,410
My opinion is the same as that of Kotaku. It appears that over 14k people did not even buy a game with the console? Not only that but consider the people that bought more than one game at a time, and that means there could be well over 30k people in Japan who only own a Playstation 3? I could understand if the Playstation 3 had a well established Arcade like the Xbox 360 but as far as I am concerned it does not, or at least not yet.

So wtf are these people using the PS3's for? Two guesses, resell, and foot rests. :P
