Project Sylpheed Goes Gold... Anyone Notice?
For as much attention that this game was receiving a few months back from myself and my fellow affiliates I find it interesting that I would be the first one to catch this bit of news on the Square-Enix front. I don't mean nothing of it, but considering how usually out of touch and late I am on Square news... well its surprising is all and doesn't seem to happen to often.
The Xbox 360 exclusive “Project Sylpheed,†published by Microsoft and Square Enix, has gone gold and will start shipping to retailers on Tuesday, July 10. “Project Sylpheed†is rated “T†for Teen and will be available at the estimated retail price of $39.99.
Eager intergalactic aerial pilots will have the opportunity to hone their skills on the “Project Sylpheed†demo, which is available starting today on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The demo includes an entire mission with an expanded weapons arsenal as players will experience the frenetic space combat available in “Project Sylpheed,†in addition to a full tutorial level and in-game introduction trailer to familiarize them with the challenges ahead in the beautiful and expansive final game.
Gamers who are prepared to engage in epic space combat can get more information at “Project Sylpheed’s†official Web site, which just launched today, at www.project-sylpheed.com. Additionally, the new trailer for “Project Sylpheed†is debuting on the site and Xbox LIVE Marketplace as well.
After playing the demo, I can probably too prematurely declare, this game isn't going to be worth the buy, maybe the square fans will just rent it for the sake of the token perfect hairstyle characters, but it seems fairly generic from the little bit I have played so far. Not only that but the controls were just outright rubbish, I am going to give it a few more goes and invert the controls so its more like flying, but it just felt unnatural, and your space ship seems to be all up in your way and just... I am clearly not a fan of flying games? Not true, I love the Rogue Squadron games, and if I learned anything from those games, it's star wars people know how to make a fun flying game.
Oh well maybe I am just picky, if you got a 360 get the demo, it's out already and is like 600 some odd megs, enjoy.
