Pre-Order Playstation 3 in the UK

Now for those of you that thought the price of $600 USD was slightly steep for the purchase of the Playstation 3 wait till you see the only current option for pre-ordering the console. Play.com is now accepting pre-orders for the console in one single form, and that is of course the dreadful bundle. The Bundle which includes 3 games one of which being Warhawk is going to cost you £549.99 EUR. Now for those of you that don't know your money translations that runs out to about $1,020 USD as Kotaku is reporting.

Though this is not yet in America it is already further worrying me and the future purchases I intend to make. If the Playstation 3 is only available in a bundle format much like the PSP was when it first came out, then I wonder who if anyone that actually games can afford this.
