While I am working on the new layout I do realize that the speed of this site is becoming an issue. Though I feel there are some other factors that are adding to the sites speed that are uncontrollable and being looked into by the host. As for changes I am making on the site to speed us up I am sure most of you noticed right away.
The IE message has been removed as it is not bringing in as many users as I hoped and the fact that it takes up a good amount of space on the header file. I have also removed the feed and recent updates from the view of the site. I intend on adding another version of this on the new layout but doing it in a different way so that the server is not using as many resources. As it would seem the home page is the area with the most load. So I have also shortened the amount of news displayed on the home page to 6 items rather than 10 which really isn’t a very big deal.
Other than that, know that the layout progress is going fairly smooth and I am experimenting with how the coverage sections will displayed so give me some time, I may open it before E3 and may not, but don’t get your hopes up.

I don’t find the site all that slow, but there is a skipping issue with the background being fixed. That and the cluttered menu are my only annoyances, really.

I haven’t found it slow at all, but I suppose the dial-up users might.
