Assassin's Creed Not-So Exclusive?
The buzz behind this story started back at the Tokyo Game show in 2005 when it was announced that the game would becoming to the PS3 and Xbox 360. This of course was rather behind close doors so it never really got much attention. Then this year at E3 it was once again being called a Playstation 3 Exclusive. However, a rumor was going around that it was running on the 360 again behind closed doors. The buzz has once again began that the game will be going multiplatform. 1up tried to get some information off Ubisoft but was only getting, "Assassin's Creed is coming to the PS3. No other announcements have been made."
So the fate of Assassin's Creed is still sort of in the dark. If you ask me though, Sony losing another Exclusive title is only going to further hurt them. So lets take a step back and try and see what Sony still has exclusive.
At the moment Sony still has the Metal Gear Solid series despite some of the titles reaching the Gamecube I don't think that Sony needs to worry that much about MGS4 being on the Wii. Next we have Killzone, which no one has even seen since last years E3 so that title isn't really helping them. Next we have Unreal 2007, though that will also be going to the PC so that title isn't really helping them either. I guess the last major series that Sony is holding is Final Fantasy, and with an estimated 3 other Final Fantasy 13 titles that have yet to be revealed it's a wonder if the series will not branch onto the Wii or even the Xbox 360.
If Assassin's Creed goes multiplatform, it's just another reason to get the Xbox 360.
