Nintendo DS Sells 21 Million

Just want to let you all know just how well the Nintendo DS is doing. 1up.com reports that Nintendo has now sold over 21 million DS handhelds worldwide. Much of the sales are in response to the recent release of the DS Lite. It’s safe to assume that the sales will continue to climb especially with the DS Browser coming out.

I also found something interesting over on wikipedia; I am not sure how exact the sales figures are, but the results for the Nintendo Gamecube are 20.85 million(units sold) as of March 2006. The Gamecube hasn’t really been selling that well in general, so it’s safe to assume that the DS and Gamecube have roughly the same overall sales figures.
