Halo 3 Walkthrough

For those of you that are to obssessed with Square-Enix to know or care about the Unreal Engine then let me shed some light on the subject matter. The Unreal engine is basically a graphical and technologically advanced toolset that allows game developers to spend more time coding and less time designing every aspect of a game. For those of you that have ever played a game and thought? this looks familiar well chances are it was familiar.

Epic games has made a name for itself with both their Unreal Tournament games as well as there licensable Unreal Engines. For those of you that don’t know what a game looks like in the Unreal 3 engine then look no further than Unreal 2007 and Gears of War. Two completely beautiful games both showcasing the same graphical architecture.

What does this mean for Square-Enix? It means that the game developers will have more time to develop story and gameplay aspects and have to spend less time tweaking lighting effects and dealing with the PS3’s troubled cell-processor headache.

Not only that but with games like Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII not even coming out until 2008 it could mean that the engine could be going into use very soon. :P

Square Enix is going to use the unreal engine for a new multi platform MMORPG. The Final Fantasy games are still using the “White Engine”.
