Final Fantasy Versus XIII Slowing Kingdom Hearts 3 Development

What a long title :P. Anyway, you heard it right, appearently Nomura working on two major titles is a tiny bit of an overload (it’s not like there are high expectations for those two games :P), so basically Nomura will be putting his focus into Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and since neither of the 13s are supposed to hit us until 2008 that might mean Kingdom Hearts 3 could be pushing the realm of 2009 :0.

However on a better note, Nomura said this would be his “last” Final Fantasy title and that he would like to focus on the Kingdom Hearts franchise… KH4 and beyond? Nomura also had some information about the Versus battle system.

Versus XIII has a myriad of combat types which incorporate styles from Kingdom Hearts and Dirge of Cereberus. The player’s POV changes according to their weapon. So if you have a gun, the perspective might change to FPS. A sword could be third person.

Sounds really innovating for the RPG genre that hopefully keeps changing for the best :).
