Halo 3 Walkthrough

RSS Feed for Unlimited Gamer Nintendo DS Opera Broswer

1up.com is running a lengthy feature displaying just about everything you can do with the Japanese import of the DS Browser. While the author admits it would be much easier to learn in English, many of the pitfalls that exist in the PSP browser still exist in the DS version. While browser functionality is just one more thing that the DS can do it’s still a better idea to do your web surfing on a laptop rather than a handheld device.

The verdict? Surfing on DS is just as lousy as it is on PSP.

Let this be a lesson to you all: when the console wars start focusing on non-gaming pursuits, we all lose. Opera for DS is a mixed bag at best; it does some things fairly well and other things horribly. And some things it simply doesn’t do, period.

However, you cannot avoid the fact that the browser on the DS makes use of the stylus giving it a huge edge over the PSP, and the ability to view more of the screen and select sections of the browser via a smaller overall view on the bottom, it makes browsing much much easier.

One of the largest complaints and one that matters to me more than anything else is the browsers problem with rendering pages, in other words sites like mine will become stacked and deranged, because of the floats, I suspect that things like the sites navigation will appear entirely wrong, however once I get the browser in my hand, I will make a style sheet just for you DS users so you can view the site real nice ;).
