I for one can’t really stand how I have been doing UG lately so I think a unique perspective on the site is needed, the layout I have scribbled in my head is not something the likes of UG has ever seen. I will always keep it simple and usable but how the site is presented should be new and refreshing. The color scheme is not decided and I have a good amount of work ahead of me, I plan on rewriting the Unlimited Gamer Style Sheet, and for those of you that have ever seen it… well it’s not pretty. I also plan on adding a print style sheet so things like guides will be more easily printed for those that hate reading on the screen.
I have a few walkthroughs sitting on my hard drive waiting to be added and I think I will wait for the fresh layout to add them. I have also started converting sections like the reviews and re-establishing sections like video game trailers. I will try to keep the trailers more up to date than I have up until recently and post them on the news whenever some cool ones pop up.
Also planning on adding a new forum skin, it will be a side-project of the main layout and will hopefully better flow the site and forum together, while my faith in the forum is very little, I still plan to at least make it look presentable haha.
In regards to that I have considered the possiblity of doing a forum within the means of wordpress, so all the wordpress people could then post on the forums, but it would lack a lot of the functionality in VB in which case doesn’t even seem to really matter? Might try it out later on, we’ll see eh?
Got a lot of work ahead of me, plan on getting started this weekend, since I actually got a job, but I can use there wifi to work on the site when theres no customers so it’s more of a good thing than a bad one :).
