After a short scene, head out by going south. The door to the north is like the Sealed Chests (Black Boxes) you've
seen in 1000 A.D. and 600 A.D., you can't open them yet. Anyway head to the south to find Trann Dome. Inside, the
first guy you come to will sell you stuff. Buy everyone an [IRON SUIT] and [IRON HELM]. If you need more money, sell
off your old armor. Over to the left-most area of the dome next to the guy is an Enertron. It restores HP/MP for free.
Use it if you didn't heal after fighting the Dragon Tank. With that out of the way, leave and head back up north.
Follow the road until you get to an area called Lab 16. Inside, head to the right and up, but avoid the rats or they will steal Tonics from you. Inside the chest is a [BERSERKER]. It makes you berserk meaning your character will only do physical attacks and will only do them automatically, but raises their attack power. Anyway, head back to the entrance and head north. You can either fight the monsters and move on, or slip through the space by them where the rat is and risk losing a Tonic. But you risk losing on anyway because the rat runs around in circles on the path. At the end of the path is a forced battle with a Meat Eater and 2 Octopods. In the chest is a [LODE SWORD]. Further up the path and to the left is a chest with a [LODE BOW]. Continue left, kill the 2 Man Eaters and 2 Octopods and head up past the Craters. Head right to the next screen. On the car are monsters called Shadows, the must be killed with magic based attacks like Slash or Flame Toss. Head south until you come to a chest with an [ETHER]. Head back up and then hug the wall ACROSS from the sleeping Mutant if you want to avoid it. Otherwise, just walk straight through. Head up. Hug the wall directly BELOW where the Mutant is sleeping to avoid it. Head up and you're out. Head Southeast. There are 3 areas you can enter: Arris Dome, Sewer Access, and Lab 32. You can't get through Lab 32 right now so don't even bother. Sewer Access is optional, but it'll help you level up and get money & weapons. You can do this quest at any point in the game but I'll cover it now. (Actually you'll be forced to do it eventually.) Once inside, you'll see a short scene. Head right. You'll have to fight 2 Edgers and a Nereid. Finish them off and open the chest for [600G]. Head left and you'll have 2 fight 2 Nereids when you cross the bridge. Kill 'em and then continue. You'll see a short scene with 2 frogs. They'll hint about a bridge. Head south to the next area. To the left you'll find a diary that says you'll be attacked if you make the slightest noise. That's the clue to getting through this area without any battles. There are items just laying around. A cat, a pop can, a toaster or tv or trashcan (not sure what it is), a piece of cheese or pizza, and a save point. Don't touch any of them or you'll be attacked. Head around the path and up the ladder to the next area. Head straight up. You'll find a gap in the wall to the right. Enter it and head up and flip the switch. Head back and continue up. Head to the right and around the wall and come through the door you just opened. Another scene with the frogs that'll tell you how to make the bridges appear. Head up and get the [RAGE BAND]. This let's a character counterattack (50% chance). Equip it on Crono. Heal up and when ready, head across the bridge. You'll have to fight a miniboss battle with Krawlie.
This miniboss has some dangerous attacks so try to finish him with techs fast. His most dangerous is called "I'll shred ya". It lowers 1 part member to 1 HP. He can kill that person off with his next attack so heal that person ASAP. You don't have any shadow attacks right now unless you do this quest after you get Robo. Head south and you'll have to fight 2 Edgers and 2 Nereids. Continue south. Head all the way west and up. Open the chest for a [BOLT SWORD]. Equip it on Crono. Hit the switch and all of the bridges will appear. Head back easy and up the ladder and you'll be on the world map. You can enter the Keeper's Dome and Death Peak. If you enter Death Peak you'll be knocked off. Inside the Keeper's Dome you can talk to the old man and the Nu (the purple thing). It's useless to talk to them right now, but you'll have to come back later anyway. Leave and head back through Sewer Access. This time you can cross the bridges so it'll be real quick to get out. Head into Arris Dome. Eventually a man will ask you something and you'll get a short scene. Anyway continue on. To the very left of the dome is a little girl selling stuff. Use the Enertron and save, then talk to the big-headed guy. His name is Doan. Next, head down the ladder below Doan. You can only go left right now. Head across the catwalk and into the next area. You'll have to fight a boss.
This boss can be difficult if you don't know what you are doing, but if you do, it's real easy. There are 2 ways to go about this fight. 1: Kill off both bits so they can't counterattack whatsoever, then focus on the main body. 2: Kill 1 bit so you don't have to worry about them both being revived and focus on the main body. The first one is easier because the Guardian doesn't attack without the bits, but you have to worry about the 2 bits being revived and repeat. Whatever you do don't fight while both bits are alive, kill at least one. Afterwards head north for a scene. You get a [SEED]. Examine the body in order to advance. Open the chest for a [MID ETHER]. Leave. You'll see the rat that looked like a statue. Do what the note on the dead body said and catch it to reveal the secret of the rat. I'd post the secret, but it won't work unless you catch the rat. Chase after it. If it gets away, re-enter the room and try again. Once you catch it, leave and go back up to the Enertron. Head back down and enter the code in the console. Go through the right door. Head straight up past the monsters to get a [MID ETHER] from the chest. Head back down and go up the stairs to the left. Head around the catwalk and down the stairs. Head down, right, and up the stairs and through the door. Head north and up the stairs. Head around the catwalk and then north. Head up the closest stairs and head around and through the door. Examine the computer for a scene. The main plot has now commenced. Leave and head back to the room with Doan. You get another scene and he gives you a [BIKE KEY] and tells you to go through Lab 32. Use the Enertron, save and leave. Enter Lab 32 to the northeast and get a [MID TONIC] out the chest at the entrance. Examine the Jet Bike. You'll get a scene and meet Johnny. You can skip through the whole dungeon if you race Johnny across it using the Jet Bike, or you can walk through. Walking gets you a useless race item. Riding across means no battles and it's quicker. Racing: Move across using the left direction button. You have 3 boosts. If you win, you're on the other side of Lab 32. If you loose you're on the same side. A good tip is to us a boost right as you approach the finish line. Walking: You can get a [RACE LOG], which lets you record your race score if you talk to Johnny after getting it. Once on the other side, leave. Head east and then south. Enter Proto Dome. Inside you have to fight 3 Buggers, and then 4 more. Use the Enertron and then head northeast. You'll encounter a robot and a scene. You'll get Robo as a character. Next, you have to go up north to the factory to continue on. You have to leave either Lucca or Marle behind. I think Lucca is more useful. She can heal with items and can attack. Marle is only good for healing. You can switch between the 2 by talking to them. |
