  Mission 7 - A Chance Meeting
There's a secret mission available at the start here, head into the hall and before going into the door, double jump up above the light to a small indentation in the wall, examine the statue to find Secret Mission 3.

A surprisingly easy and difficult mission at the same time. When I started this I thought it wouldn't be physically possible until way later in the game, I couldn't beat four to five seconds no matter how hard I tried, then all of a sudden I realized just how easy it is. First of all I had the sword combat fighting style on which was a key part of this, and the Air Hike ability of course, nothing else. What I did was let all the enemies gather near me and then Air Hike into the air. From there you should delay as much as possible by firing your Handguns and swinging your sword with the circle button, now as you slowly fall keep swinging your sword and you will almost definitely hit one of the enemies, the instant this happens you have the ability to Air Hike once again so just do it straight up, shoot and swing until you come down again to repeat the process. Eventually as time is getting low I found myself wildly slamming the X, circle and square buttons to fire, swing and jump with all the enemies were below, but surprisingly it worked out quite well. I tried it once more to verify it wasn't a fluke and it works. Of course the other method is obviously Air Raid, while it isn't an option now you'll remember from previous Devil May Cry games that Air Raid allows you to fly in demon form, just come back here and do the Secret Mission when you get it.

Grab the Blue Orb Fragment and that should be another full Blue Orb. Drop down and enter the door right below the bright light. Your destination is all the way down at the bottom of this huge tower. Enter the door there. Now start running around destroying the statues until you find one with the Orihalcon Fragment underneath. Picking it up eliminates the barrier and allows you to return to the previous room. Use the super jump devices to launch yourself all the way to the top. Note that one of the levels near the top has a shiny Holy Water item sitting on the ground. Enter the green door and go out onto the ledge. At the far tip is a broken pillar, jump on top of it and many large Red Orbs will float down to you. Head back into the hall and ascend the stairs. Now there's some extremely difficult platforming here. Above your are a number of ceiling columns, many of them have Red Orbs on top. Well the highest and furthest back one has a Blue Orb Fragment, in order to get it you have to perfect your Air Hike usage. The way I was able to get it was keeping this in mind. If you jump once and then Air Hike while HOLDING the analog stick in a direction you will do a flip in that direction, however is you Air Hike while not touching the analog stick at all you will jump straight up. After jumping straight up you can use the analog stick to manoeuvre very carefully in mid air and hopefully slowly get to the fragment.

Drop down and enter the door. Smash your way through all the statues as you head up the path. Go inside the room on the left and approach the statue to trigger an attack from a horde of enemies. Approach the statue again after the battle and grab the Siren's Shriek. In the next room jump up and examine the power device, you'll automatically use the Orihalcon Fragment. Before doing anything else you should check out the statue nearby, now this one is ridiculously hard to defeat. You need to use the Rebellion but in doing so you have to maximize the amount of times you hit the statue, moving to a different combo for every single hit. The Stringer attack that ends with the super fast sword stab is very effective but it will take more than that if you finally want to extinguish the final flame. After doing so a Blue Org Fragment is revealed. Head down to the bottom of the room and get on the elevator. Now you can access the statue if you wish, but your main destination is that fiery door. Now using the Siren's Shriek you have the power to put out the flames. Do so and proceed through the door. This is just a slight deviation but if you've been running out of new actions to spend your orbs on and haven't already been doing so, going to the item menu and blowing every last Red Orb you have on full Blue Orbs is a great idea.

In this room head down the stairs below you and grab the Yellow Orb. Open the door at the top and slash through the wall. Now activate the emblem on the far wall using your sword and a large ball on a chain comes down. You can use your diverse knowledge of physics to follow the ball around as you strike it or you can cheat by jumping on top and striking it from there. Hitting it enough times before it raises back up drops the Crystal Skull onto the ground which of course brings a ton of enemies with it. Now remember if you weren't already aware, the enemies with the large object that send souls out around them are actually the ringleaders, other enemies will respawn infinitely until these are defeated, and then all you have to do is clean up the onces remaining. Don't go for the small fry, go for the real thing. Return to the previous room and ride the elevator back up to the top. Fight your way through another bunch of enemies on the hall with all the statues. The door at the top with the indentation on the right pillar, insert the skull and head through the door. Outside is one of those Red Orbs crystals, use the fast Stinger combo to get lots of them out of it. Continue forward and use the statue to purchase any last minute items or abilities, and prepare for a boss.

Vergil

Lucky for you the game's bosses don't get exponentially harder as you go along. As long as you realize the weakness of this boss you can win the battle. That weakness is of course, Ebony & Ivory. Fighting this guy, who is a master of the blade with your own sword will only get you killed, that doesn't mean of course that you should just keep firing for the entire battle, there's a good mix to be had. The best combination for the fight is simply Ebony & Ivory, Rebellion and the Air Hike skill. Each time Vergil attacks he is temporarily vulnerable, but since his attacks all have good range and power what you should be doing while he attacks is using Air Hike to stay in the air above him firing downward with your guns for decent damage, but the real damage comes when you land. Do your very best to land just as his attack finishes, then Stinger into him and let loose a four swing sword combo. Obviously doing this correctly just once will make you realize how fast this battle is going to go. The one little complication comes near the end when he teleports to the sides and fires a projectile, simply jump when he's charging up and Air Hike before he blasts to dodge it every time, and when he comes back, shoot and slash.
