Biography

Clearly the main character of the movie, he makes his return from the video game FFVII. But this time hes not playable. In the movie Cloud is continually attacked by Kadaj's gang(Silver Haired Men). The men seem to think that Cloud is there brother and possibly in possession of there mother, however Cloud has no intentions to fight with them. With his new bike he can store up to 6 swords and pull one out when needed. Though the bike is loaded with swords it would seem that Cloud is unsure of his ability to fight and help others, this may be due to the fact that he has recently been infected with the Geostigma that is plaguing the planet.

Role in Final Fantasy VII (Game)

In Final Fantasy VII you play as Cloud Strife, the shy young Ex-Soldier with a grudge against Shinra. You will gradually find yourself intertwined in a battle you cannot escape against the Shinra and Sephiroth in order to save the planet. Throughout the game you meet many people who share a similar goal and together you fight against all odds for the good of the planet. However noble this may be it would seem as though Cloud has an unknown past that is continually conflicting the journey. In the game you learn about the origin of Cloud in Soldier however the stories he speaks off seem to have no happened as he said, so you will find yourself continually finding the real answers to your past.

Role in Advent Children (Spoilers)

Cloud plays of course the most important role in the movie. From the start we learn that Cloud has apparently abandoned the new 7th Heaven bar because he has been infected by the Geostigma disease. It would seem that Cloud has not changed much since FFVII, he is still shy and not involving his friends when he is in need of help, not only that but it would seem as though he has lost the will to fight. Throughout the movie Cloud continually brings up his Sin, though it is not said I believe he is referring to his inability to Save Aeris from Sephiroth, because of this Cloud is unsure of his ability to fight, he doesn't believe he can save anyone. However with the help of his friends and even Aeris Cloud gradually comes to his senses and begins to fight for the sake of the planet and the children once again. Evidence of Cloud gradually becoming sure of himself is when he defeats Bahamut with the aid of all of his old friends and lastly with the spirit of Aeris. Finally Cloud decides he will fight to the bitter end and finds his strength in what he desires to protect. When fighting against Sephiroth he says "There is nothing that isn't important to me," at this point Cloud just unleashes hell on Sephiroth and well you can see it for yourself.
