Vincent is one of the most mysterious characters to grace the gaming industry and even with a full length game and a movie to follow that we are still left confused and unaware of his past. Thus the reason why Vincent is soon to have his own game out Dirge of Cerberus which we hope answers many of the lingering questions. Vincent continues to be a rather philosophizer as well as a very powerful comrade in the Avalanche team.

Vincent like Yuffie is a side character but he is less difficult to acquire. After a few short scenes he will be on your team and stay there. But it’s not as simple as that, when you first meet Vincent he is in seclusion in a coffin at the bottom of the Shinra Mansion. So right off the back you are more than concerned about what or why this character is where he is. It turns out that Vincent was a former Turks member and after losing his love Lucrecia to the Shinra Inc. and professor Gast he refuses to live with himself and thus ends up in the coffin. But things go deeper than that you see, because the child that Lucrecia had was none other than Sephiroth so Vincent also feels a responsibility for the existence of Sephiroth for not being able to stop the Shinra from doing what they did. Also while at the Icicle Inn you can view various videos that were captured by Gast while he was with Lucrecia to offer a better understanding to who Lucrecia was. For those of you that don’t care to watch then I will simply tell you that Lucrecia was and still is an Ancient has she is not dead and you will meet her again if you take the time to seek her out.

Vincent has a rather moderate role in the movie, though he is not as ignored as the other characters of Avalanche. He comes to Clouds aid in the Ancient forest where he begins to knock some sense into the currently confused and weak Cloud. Vincent’s main purpose in the movie is to simply offer aid to cloud in terms of emotional and mental support. As it seems Vincent is one of the few people in the movie that can still relate to Cloud on the same level as they are both alone, but Cloud unlike Vincent tries to shoulder to much of the responsibility for actions that are not his fault. None the less not much about Vincent’s past is explained during the movie and that is expected with the upcoming game that stares Vincent. Vincent also serves as a man of information, for the most part questions that arise about the movie are typically answered by him.
