Happy eat a ton of turkey and sit with people in your family you don’t much like day. More importantly tomorrow is black friday, so anyone looking to get some games or pick up some hd tvs for your hd-consoles I think most of you should look around for some black friday ads and get out early tomorrow :). I know that some stores have some sick sales, like walmart is giving away 10 blu-ray dvds with the purchase of a ps3… that might be the best one I have seen if you really want a ps3 right now. Anyway enjoy the holiday and the days off school I got to go eat some food.
Assassin’s Creed: My First Impressions

This game is getting a lot of gripe, and to be honest from playing it for a good 2-3 hours now I can safely say that people are overly reacting, and it’s what they get for hyping a game so much. If you ask me this will turn out just like Fable. While the game is good it’s not going to live up to the enormous amount of hype and after seeing some poor review scores I am glad I got my hopes down before I sat down with the game. I find it for the most part fun, while yes it’s repetitive but hell aren’t all games? I don’t remember the last time I played a game where everything I did wasn’t the same shit over and over? FPS: you shoot shit, RPG: you get into random battles, Action-Adventure: you look for stuff and then fight for that stuff?
All of these things are common and known, so for people to expect the whole damn world to change dramatically just because you enter another city seems a bit over the top, you can’t expect gameplay to change because the scenery has, you have fundamentals, how would everyone like it if their was a different controller scheme for every area? or if certain actions could only be done while in a certain town? If you ask me everyone needs to get their foot out of their ass and just sit down with an HD tv and enjoy the game for what it is, because if anything it is a decent game even if it isn’t the epic adventure you all hoped for, it’s still fun and enjoyable…
That’s my two cents, if I hate the game in a couple of hours so be it, this is only a first impression.

I have to admit that not having the Orange Box for the pc does have it’s disadvantages, the funniest disadvantage has to be the lack of the ability to make levels and use the characters in the mod Gary’s Mod. For those of you unfamiliar with this legendary software it essentially allows you to take any map from any of the Half-Life and source related games and place characters and objects to your liking in them. This means the amount of hilarity that ensues is simply unheard of.
For those of you fans in any way of Half-Life or it’s sister games I highly recommend you check out the NEOGaf forums because over the last few days some of the more talented Gary’s Modders have been going to town with scenes using some of our beloved Team Fortress Characters.

I admit that of all the news posts that I have ignored this isn’t exactly gold, but I don’t give a crap because I like music and this gives me a reason to post about Assassin’s Creed :P.
Two free tracks have dropped and you can coop them over at Gamer Tag Radio, and no you don’t need to register just scroll down to the tracks and “Save As.” The music is actually fairly tight, and if anything it makes you imagine your playing the game while you wait for it over the next day. Be sure to pick up your copy tomorrow, and for those of you using gamefly I hope you sent something back so you don’t have to wait for all the people that had it in there “game q” to return their copies of it ;).
I have to admit, all the games that are coming out are not helping me care about this site, but I want everyone to know that I am trying to find time for it, and I am designing a new layout and I know that Richard is attempting to help me get something going for the new site. Basically what has happened in the last few days is we have lost a PR and for those that don’t know don’t worry about it. But to me it’s a huge blow and it seriously pisses me off, so I want to gain back the popularity and pride of this site.
I will also more than likely be killing the forums off in a month or so and let them go for a while because god knows there dead and maybe if I create a demand for them people might actually go to them?
So yeah sorry for the lack of news and shit, but to be honest I don’t see much going on in the gaming world other than the release of mad titles, Assassins Creed and Mass Effect are right on the horizon and should most likely prevent me from touching this site hahaha.
My Top Ten Game Franchises of All TIME!!!!!!!

We have come a long way since the days of Kaleco Vision and Atari.
I believe over 25,000 games have been created and over 500 million plus consoles have been sold(including remakes, excluding virtual games).
that said i have come up with my top 10 games of all time and why.
I encourage everyone to comment with their top 10
10. Tony Hawk Pro Skater - Playstation
Tony Hawk Franchise has broken the mold with life like pro skaters, create a park and real skating spots around the world. It has received numerous awards and top picks as greatest games ever created. It has recreated the dull extreme sports industry and has revitalized a sport on the rise that wanted millions of children to learn how to skateboard and do backflips on it. I was one.
9. Tetris - PC
A brilliant Russian scientist was the creator of such a simple game that entrapped people for hours to beat. It has been created on every platform created except the arcade boxes and next gen. It has been recently recreated on the Nintendo DS in 2006. Still addicting.
8. Grand Theft Auto - Playstation
GTA has changed drastically over the years. Since it was first release it was a top down, birds eye view game. Even with that, there was tons of violence in it. I was a free lance Smash Tv type game with missions and car jacking. It has gone along way into full immersed 3-d world roaming. It definitely revolutionized the gaming industry. Many games have copied the style of GTA. Even car games like Need For Speed: Carbon has copied the open world style.
7. Madden Football - Nes
First ever football game to include 3d models in real life. Only game franchise in the industry to have an illustrious curse on its cover athlete.
It has been the #1 sports game sold yearly. In 2006, it was the top selling game, selling at 1.8 million plus. It even has its own made up holiday celebrated on the release date and call Madenology. It is currently the only football franchise to have exclusive rights to the NFL franchise, likeness and rights. It is the most accurate video game representation of any sport.
6. Need For Speed - PC
Race fast, race nice cars, drift, pursuits. Need For Speed has changed the influence of the Car industry. I bet most gamers wouldn’t know a Fiat from a Ford, or what a Ferrari is if it wasn’t for Need For Speed. This gaming franchise grew with popularity with movies like the Fast and the Furious . The car craze has never been at a high for a younger generation if it wasnt for Need For Speed.
5. Doom - PC
You people are probably asking why or how is Doom number 5 on my list. Doom paved the way for true 3-d horror Fps(first person shooters) game made. Im not forgetting the amazing Wolfenstein 3-d, but Doom was what paved the way for games like Unreal, Quake, Shadow Warrior, Duke Nukem and System Shock. The was one of the first games to ever push the computer to graphical limits. This sparked the war for games to push the graphics envelope. Games that made people build computers or buy brand new ones just so these games would even run at minimal speeds.
4. Mortal Kombat - Nes
Oh, Mortal Kombat. How bloody thee is. Mortal Kombat was evolutionary for the industry. It was one of the first games that had extreme violence. It was the game that sparked congress when Tipper Gore pointed out that this game was not suitable for children. This was the same game that initiated the ESRB. Very significant I say. Mortal Kombat was also responsible for sucking quarters out of little kids pockets at the arcades.
3. Final Fantasy - Nes
Oh how far has Final Fantasy has come along. Starting of from Nintendo and then jumping ship to Playstation and making a brief stint on Xbox and back to Nintendo. This Franchise has been on nearly every system. Lets start counting. NES, SNES, Gameboy, Playstation, Playstation 2, Xbox, PC, DS, PSP and the WonderSwan. Thats been alot of games. For those of you that don’t know what Final Fantasy is, it is a Role Playing Game a.k.a. RPG. It was one of the first RPGs ever to be created for a console. Final Fantasy consistently gave gamers 30+ hours of story line and deep game play. They gave gamers a reason to get to level 99 with max health. Final Fantasy just recently celebrated 20 years in the videogame market. Thats a feat that is hard to touch when they only bring out a new game every 2-6 years. Much love to Final Fantasy, you made summers and winters go by so slowly.
2 . Resident Evil - Playstation
Didn’t expect this one did you. I bet not. With 3 movies and a 4th one coming up in the next couple years, this franchise has been booming. Resident Evil 4 being a smash hit and all the spin offs and remakes of the games, I had to give one of my all time favorites a spot higher then Sonic. If you rememeber this game on the Playstation, the Original game, you would probably remember how scary it was back then. Don’t lie either, you probably had nightmares or even pissed your pants cause it was that scary.
1. Super Mario Bros - NES
It was plump little plumber that could. That could jump over tall pipes, grow up and be a man, and when getting hit by a goomba, shrink and become a child with a mustache. He dove in to our hearts and became an Icon in the American Gaming Industry. Get went from 2-D to 3-D in a matter of nearly 2 decades. He was the first to save a princess in any game. He went on to make Nintendo who they are. He did it with very little violence and no curse words or slang. He transcended gender and age barriers. He even had his own cartoon/live show and had his own cereal(check the link out). He was the first video game icon to be made into a McDonalds(Old Mcdonalds Commerical, I owned every one of those) toys twice. He is what we would call an Icon in todays society.
Honorable Mention:
Zelda:Link to the Past
Definitely a great franchise, I definitely have not forgotten about this one. One of the greatest top down games of all time. I love the Zelda franchise, but with Mario and Sonic being the front runners for their prospective systems I had no place to put this franchise anywhere in my top 10.
Unreal and Halflife
Why did I put these together? Because back in the day they redefined the first person shooter genre. although not on my top 10, they did what Doom could not. Combine great graphics, gameplay, and story. But Doom set grounds for what FPS are today. Thats why these franchises are not on my top.
Metal Gear Solid
Quirky characters in a serious espionage game? Only works in this title. As we wait patiently for MSG4, we have seen a rough and tough spy grow up to be oh so lovable. With his smoke filled lungs and coarse voice we have seen him team up with a gay ninja and face a pyscho that can read our memory cards. Creepy how this all works together in a spy game. Oh Snake, please smoke more and give us another game after MGS4
This article has taken over a month to write. It was very hard for me to compile a list of games that effected my life since I first started playing NES when i was 5. I would like the readers to comment and compile a list together of their top 10. Im very tired now.
